AfriCap is about Guidance on securing and managing funding for African startups and SMEs, exploring grants, loans, and angel investment.. We stay on that ground deliberately. A site that writes about everything ends up being an authority on nothing, and the whole value of a small publication is that it goes deeper on a narrow subject than a general outlet has room to.

What we publish is decided by what people are actually asking. We look at real search and demand data for this subject, find the questions that are being asked often and answered badly, and write about those. That is why the coverage here is uneven by design: some corners of the subject get several pieces and others get none, because that is where the questions are.

We are a small research and editorial team. We start from real demand and search data, gather evidence from named, credible sources, check the numbers, and write it up plainly. Every article is reviewed by a person before it is published, and we update pages as the data changes.

All of our work is published under our team byline, The Acyera Insights Team, rather than under individual names. We would rather you judged a piece on whether its sources hold up than on whose name sits at the top of it.

Every piece follows the same route, and it is worth setting out plainly, because how a thing was made is most of what tells you whether to trust it.

• We start from real search and demand data to find a question people are genuinely asking, rather than from a topic we felt like writing about.
• We gather evidence from named, credible organisations, and we read the source pages rather than summarising what other articles said about them.
• Every figure we publish is checked back against the exact wording of the source it came from, and figures that cannot be traced that way are cut.
• Where two independent organisations say the same thing, we say it plainly. Where they disagree, we say who says what.
• A person reviews the finished piece before it is published. Nothing goes live because a system decided it was ready.

When the evidence for a piece is not there, we do not write it. That sounds obvious and it is the part most often skipped, because a half-researched article still fills a page. We would rather publish less and have you find every page here worth the time.

Each article carries its sources at the foot, numbered, and the numbers appear inline in the text at the point where a claim is made. If a sentence here states a figure, you can follow it to the organisation that published it and check it yourself. That is the whole point of doing it that way.

Charts are built only from figures that appear in the sources we cite. We do not estimate, model, or fill gaps in a series, and a chart that would need us to do any of that is not published.

Everything here is general information and explanation. It is not professional advice, and it is not a substitute for talking to someone qualified who knows your particular situation.

We do not accept payment to cover a subject, to reach a conclusion, or to mention an organisation. Where advertising appears on this site it is served by a third party and has no bearing on what we write or how we write it.

We revisit published pages on a schedule and update them as the underlying data changes, so figures and sources stay current rather than being frozen on the day the piece went out.

We get things wrong sometimes, and when we do we would rather know. If a figure looks off, a source has been misread, or something has simply gone out of date, write to support@acyera.com or use the contact page. We correct what is wrong and we do not quietly delete it.
